HSUS To the Rescue! NY Gala

The Humane Society of the United States held their 30th annual “To the Rescue” event in New York City on November 15th.  This event celebrates those who have gone above and beyond to rescue animals around the world from crisis; whether that be a natural disaster or nightmare conditions such as puppy mills and dog meat farms.  Each year, The Humane Society grants three awards.  This year, the Corporate Consciousness Award went to Unilever for their efforts to create products that are never tested on animals.  The Voice for Animals Award went to Mutts cartoonist and author, Patrick McDonnell, who actually drew a cartoon of a dog on the fly on stage during the event!  The Humane Champion Award was given to the Alex and Elisabeth Lewyt Charitable Trust.  The masters of ceremonies for the evening were Rebecca Romijn and Jerry O’Connell with musical performance by Gavin DeGraw.  It was a beautiful evening to celebrate the incredible work that the Humane Society performs worldwide.

2019 Brady Action Awards

On November 14th, the ROI Solutions team had the honor of attending The Brady Action Awards Dinner in Washington DC. It was a special evening as long-time client the Brady Campaign was celebrating the 25th year anniversary of President Bill Clinton signing the Brady Bill into law.  The Brady Bill is a provision of US federal law that requires a waiting period for handgun purchases and background checks on those who wish to purchase handguns. Brady President Kris Brown presented President Clinton with the distinguished Executive Action Award and Congressman Peter King and Speaker of The House Nancy Pelosi with Congressional Action Awards.  What a wonderful evening supporting an incredible organization!
