President and Chief Executive Officer
Gina VanderLoop is the founder and CEO of ROI Solutions.
Gina has an extensive background working directly in the non-profit sector since 1986 – combined with extensive knowledge and experience in technology.
Gina worked as Director of Development for the Nobel Peace Prize winning organizations International Physicians for the Prevention of Nuclear War (IPPNW) and Physicians for Human Rights (PHR). At IPPNW, Gina’s work centered on establishing major and individual giving programs for the organization ranging from direct marketing tactics to personal solicitations as well as undertaking international fundraising efforts working with IPPNW affiliates in Sweden, Germany and the United Kingdom. At PHR, Gina took the organization from deficit funding to over $1M in revenue in her very first year working with the organization. These fundraising increases came from a variety of sources: foundation giving; the establishment of individual giving programs that encompassed membership; annual giving through direct marketing; fundraising events; and the organization’s first-ever major gifts program (including a successful Planned Giving Program with gifts through Appreciated Securities and Bequests). Back in her organizing days, just out of college, Gina was Regional Director for INFACT (now Corporate Accountability International) and ran both the Upper Midwest and New England Campaign Centers and led “national organizer training sessions” for incoming new organizing staff training as many as 10-12 organizers per session over a 2 month period. There, she helped launch and lead national campaigns for the organization. Under her direction, both campaign centers tripled their staffing, activist base and fundraising base.
In 1996, Gina began Martin/VanderLoop Associates, a Boston-based consulting agency that focused on working with non-profit organizations. In this role, Gina help to build specific fundraising programs such as direct mail, telemarketing and major giving programs. Her clients included Greenpeace USA, Grassroots International, and Bridge Over Troubled Waters. Gina also served as Director of Non-Profit Development and Acting Vice President for the General Systems Corporation, a database service provider based in Virginia.
For years, Gina experienced firsthand the (seemingly) insurmountable challenge facing all nonprofits: how to effectively gather, store, maintain, and use information to truly enhance the results of fundraising and organizing efforts. Gina founded ROI Solutions in 1999 with a vision to radically transform database management capabilities for nonprofits – allowing clients to gather all their data in one place so they can see it, search it, use it, and learn from it – coupled with first-rate client services. As a result, ROI’s Revolution application provided the first opportunity for nonprofits to keep all their information in one place.
Throughout her career, Gina has supervised large scale data conversions and has helped organizations integrate systems efficiently and cost-effectively in a manner that has not only helped organizations raise millions of dollars but also allowed organizations to cut costs and manage time and massive amounts of data more efficiently.
Gina is fluent in various operating systems, software applications, hardware, networking and communications. She has established computer networks ranging from purchases and setup, to network configuration and communication protocols, to software installations and programming.
Gina is a rare combination of knowing – and being able to address – the technical as well as the fundraising, organizing and political needs of her clients. She knows, understands and has direct experience in nonprofit development – from fundraising tactics ranging from direct marketing to major gifts, foundation management and planned giving – to organizing and political outreach. Having been involved in both the database and development ends, Gina is uniquely qualified to help non-profit organizations bridge the gap.
In her spare time, Gina spends time volunteering with local community based nonprofit organizations and runs fundraising/organizing training sessions and serves on the National Leadership Council of GLSEN. She can also be heard weekly playing guitar in the Company band.
